Against all odds, and to the surprise of most of us, the Bruins are managing to hold their own with a crippled defense and won 4-2 last night against the New Jersey Devils. This puts the Bruins on an unexpected but spectacular 5 game win streak and pushed them into 3rd place in the division. I just. This team boggles my mind sometimes. Or most of the time.
Now I just need to start by saying: holy mother of all things hockey related where in the world did Seth Griffith come from? If you can tell me that you had predicted that he would be this successful, you'd be a liar and we'd all glare at you like Tyler Seguin after he didn't eat his breakfast. But last night's goal though. What.A.Beauty. Such a beauty that ESPN actually played it on their highlight reel, which is basically unheard of. In case you missed it (shame on you), here's the video.

Look how pretty that was! Totally caught Schneider off guard and it was beautiful and Bruins nation definitely fan girl-ed a little bit. Griffith at this point has four goals in 12 games, which is pretty impressive all things considered. You go Glen Coco.
Anyways, the Devils say an early first period goal from Zajac but the Bruins were having none of that nonsense and soon rallied back with a power play goal (what even) from Carl Soderberg and an unassisted goal from Saint Patrice himself.
The second period saw a goal from Jaromir Jagr, who somehow has managed not to break a hip or something. But that was the last goal the Devils would see. Seth Griffith then scored his goal and Reilly Smith scored the game winner toward the end of the period. The third period saw nothing special except an embellishment call on Marchand, which is kind of hysterical.
The Bruins have the day off today and will go up against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday.
Until then,
Keep Calm and Bergeron!
