The Bruins are slowly but steadily making their return to the big bad Bruins we've come to know and love. The B's beat the Kings last night 3-2 in Boston, giving them 3 of 4 points out of back to back games against the reigning Stanley cup champions of the last two years.
Brad Marchand seems to have shaken the monkey off his back because he's been on fire. He scored the first goal of the game 12 minutes into the first putting the Bruins ahead 1-0. Torey Krug followed in his fellow shortie's foot steps by scoring a power play goal with 2:09 left.
Up 2-0, the Bruins started the second period off a bit roughly. The Kings cut the deficit in half off a goal from Mitchell and the Bruins responded to it with some sloppy play in the beginning. Although they got their act together as time went on, the Bruins were unable to answer with another goal that period.
In the third, the Kings tied the game 2-2 eight minutes into the period. But Marchy was having none of that and scored his second goal of the game (his fifth in four games), winning the game for the Bruins.

Bruins Positives
1. As I mentioned, Brad Marchand seems to have found his mojo again because his hands have been hot the past few games. He's scored 5 goals in four games when at the beginning of the season it took him 26 games to score the same number. He has a 40% shooting percentage in his past four games while in the past 45 his percentage was 13.2%. This is also his second game in a row with two goals. He's absolutely on fire and as a fan it's absolutely wonderful to see him returning to his old self.
2. For the majority of the game we played very solid two way hockey. We maintained long periods of offensive pressure and gave Johnson great net front support. We were blocking shots, taking shots and overall just playing good Bruins hockey.
3. We saw some great, huge hits. Destroychuk made an appearance yesterday and rocked that guys world. Kevan Miller shut down another Kings player in the corner and Milan Lucic kicked some ass and took some names. You have to love good old physical Bruins hockey.
4. Chad Johnson definitely held his own last night. He faced 23 shots and saved 21 of them, some of which were absolute robbery.

Bruins Negatives
1. There were some instances of lousy puck handling on the Bruins part, which forced Chad Johnson to come up huge in situations where he really shouldn't have had to.
2. That leg hit from Muzzin on Marchand. That's never okay.
After this win, the Bruins have a four day break before playing the Flyers on Saturday. It will be a much needed and much appreciated rest.
Until then,
Keep calm and Bergeron!
