Have that handy dandy bottle of your favorite liquor handy because tonight is going to be brutal. The Bruins (10-7-0) are going up against the Montreal Canadiens (11-4-1) after an atrocious loss to the Maple Leafs last night that made me want to rip my hair out.
Not only are the Bruins not known for being great with back to back games, we're definitely not the best with back to back games with both of them being away or when the first game we played we lost. This situation gets even better when you consider the fact that Carl Soderberg is not playing tonight with some sort of injury (because that's just what we needed right now right?) Our team is slowly but steadily becoming the AHL Bruins and I don't know how to feel about it. To get a full list of injuries and updates, click here.
The Canadiens are coming into this game after a 3-0 win against the Jets on Tuesday, meaning they've had a day to rest and are coming into this game with much more momentum than the Bruins are. The Canadiens will play tonight without Michael Bournival (Shoulder) and Blake Geoffrion (Head), which for the Canadiens isn't the end of the world by any means.
So, unless the Bruins bring out their miracle magic, I don't know how well tonight is going to go. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that they figure something out, but as one Boston based movie said "They'll break your heart, kid."
Until after the game (for better or for worse),
Keep Calm and Bergeron (and maybe drink a little bit)
