In one of the slowest games I've seen this season, the Bruins managed to pull out an overtime 2-1 win over the Florida Panthers to bring their win streak to 3 and our record to 8-6-0.
This game was just really painful to watch. We looked really slow on our skates and weren't getting many good looks on Luongo despite the Panthers have a pretty shoddy defense. We definitely played down to our opponent a little bit all game, allowing the Panthers to keep neck and neck with us in shots on goal through the first period, which ended with the tally being 10-9 in favor of the Bruins. There were no goals in the first period either, which is not something you want to see out of the Bruins against a team like the Panthers.
The second period saw a yucky goal early on from Jussi Jokinen that kept the Panthers ahead for a good three minutes before Saint Patrice himself fired back and tied up the game. And that's the end of the excitement for the rest of the game up until the Bruins went into overtime.
Now, I will be the first to admit that I had my doubts about Brad Marchand going into this season. You all probably remember the little rant I went on last season about what we should to jump start Brad Marchand's game. But boy was I wrong. Marchand has been on absolute fire in the last few games and last night was no exception. For the third time this season, Marchand scored the overtime, game winning goal with 2 minutes left off a beautiful pass from Dougie Hamilton.
The Bruins are looking to sustain this momentum tomorrow against the Oilers.

Bruins Positives
1. The Shawn Thornton tribute during the TV time out evoked all of the feels. And then his parents were there and they were crying and it was a lot but it was great. In case you missed it, here's the video:
2. Brad Marchand is on a roll and I love it because when he's on, he is so on and the team benefits tremendously from it.
3. 3 Game win streak without Chara, Krug and Krejci is impressive!

Bruins Negatives
1. Slow and steady does not win the race y'all. The Bruins didn't look completely like themselves this game. They were a lot slower than I would have liked to see and certainly weren't able to find their momentum easily.
2. That Panthers goal was just plain yucky.
Until next game,
Keep Calm and Bergeron!
