It was just announced that the Bruins have traded AHL player Carter Camper to the Columbus Blue Jackets for Blake Parlett.
Carter Camper has only played three games for the Bruins during the 2011-2012 season. He notched one goal in that period. This season while on the Providence Bruins he's played in 57 games and has notched 10 goals and 37 assists.
Blake Parlett has not played a single game for the Columbus Blue Jackets. He has spent a lot of time bouncing around between AHL teams. This season he has played for two different AHL teams for a total of 76 games. He's scored 8 goals in that time with 24 assists.
So in all honesty, this trade was literally useless. We traded one non-NHL level guy for another non-NHL level guy. Why did the Bruins make the trade then? I'm going to assume it's a depth move solely for the AHL team. Also, one of the AHL guys got injured so I assume it's to fill in there if need be. But even that's a little debatable.
Welcome to the organization I guess Parlett.
